BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Phillip Fanara joined the Department of Finance, International Business and Insurance in 1985, after serving as Assistant Professor at the College of Business and Management, University of Maryland, College Park, MD., and Associate Instructor at Indiana University of Business, Bloomington, Indiana. His primary research areas of interest include: Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, and Energy Markets. He has taught: Financial Engineering, Investments, Corporate Finance, Corporate Financial Strategy, Venture Capital, Investment and Portfolio Analysis, Investment Banking, and Bond Markets & Strategies. Fanara has received a number of awards and distinctions including: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter October 1997, MBA Instructor of the Year: First Honorable Mention 1994 from the Graduate Business Student Association at Howard University, and Outstanding MBA Teacher of 1982 from the College of Business at the University of Maryland. Fanara holds a Ph.D. in Economics: Finance and Public Utilities from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and an MA and BS in Economics, and Business Management respectively from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, Rhode Island
